Working out how many tankers you need to fill swimming pool Dubai properties takes one calculation and about thirty seconds. Getting it wrong means either paying for a trip you did not need or waiting while a second load is arranged.
The formula
Pool volume in cubic metres = length × width × average depth (all in metres).
- × 220 → Imperial gallons
- × 1,000 → litres
Then divide by tanker capacity and round up.

Calculating your pool volume
For a rectangular pool, multiply length by width by average depth in metres. That gives cubic metres. Multiply by roughly 220 for Imperial gallons, or by 1,000 for litres.
For a freeform or kidney-shaped pool, use the average length and average width. The result will be slightly over, which is the safer direction to be wrong in.
Tankers needed to fill swimming pool Dubai sizes
| Pool size | Avg depth | Approx. volume | Tankers needed |
|---|---|---|---|
| 6m × 3m | 1.2m | ~4,750 gal | One 5,000 gal load |
| 8m × 4m | 1.5m | ~10,500 gal | Two 5,000 gal, or one 10,000 + top-up |
| 10m × 5m | 1.5m | ~16,500 gal | One 15,000 + one small, or two 10,000 |
| 12m × 6m | 1.6m | ~25,300 gal | Roughly three 10,000 gal loads |
These are approximations for planning. Send your actual dimensions and we will confirm the load combination before anything is dispatched.

Why average depth matters
Most pools slope. Using maximum depth instead of average depth is the most common calculation error we see, and it typically overstates volume by 20–30%.
If your pool runs from 1.2m at the shallow end to 1.8m at the deep end, the average depth is 1.5m — not 1.8m.
Three things to sort before delivery day
1. Clear the hose route
Check the path from where a tanker can realistically park to the pool edge, and clear it. Long hose runs are usually workable but we need to know in advance.
2. Finish cleaning and repairs first
Refilling a pool that then has to be drained again for repair work is an expensive mistake. Confirm any tiling, sealing or equipment work is complete.
3. Arrange community access
Gate passes are the single most common cause of a delayed pool fill in Dubai. If you live in a gated community or on Palm Jumeirah, arrange access before the delivery slot.
What to do after filling
Tanker water is not chemically balanced for a pool. Once filling is complete you will need to test and treat the water and run a full filtration cycle before anyone swims.
If you use a pool maintenance company, timing the delivery for the same day they visit saves a second call-out. Our pool water service covers villa, community and hotel pools, and the tanker size guide explains which capacities suit which volumes.
Never use TSE for a pool
Treated Sewage Effluent is cheaper than sweet water, and it is prohibited under UAE federal rules for swimming, bathing, drinking and kitchen use. Pools take sweet water.
Frequently asked questions
How many gallons is my swimming pool?
Multiply length by width by average depth in metres, then multiply by about 220 for Imperial gallons. A pool 8m by 4m at 1.5m average depth holds roughly 10,500 gallons.
How many tankers do I need to fill a swimming pool in Dubai?
Divide your pool volume by the tanker capacity and round up. A 10,500 gallon pool needs roughly two 5,000 gallon loads, or one 10,000 gallon load plus a small top-up.
Can I use TSE water in a swimming pool?
No. UAE federal rules prohibit treated sewage effluent for swimming, bathing, drinking and kitchen use. Pools should be filled with sweet water of appropriate quality.
Is tanker water chemically balanced for a pool?
No. Tanker water is not treated for pool use. Test and balance the water and run a full filtration cycle before swimming.
How long does it take to fill a pool by tanker?
Discharging a single tanker usually takes under an hour. Multi-load fills are scheduled back to back so the job finishes in one visit rather than across several days.
